On Your Way Up incentive offered at YSB

Posted: Friday, May 8, 2015

The “On Your Way Up” incentive store offered by the Youth Services Bureau of Huntington County is in need of gently used, clean infant and children clothing up to size five.

“Due to an increased demand, we are in desperate need of infant and toddler spring and summer clothes, both girls and boys,” says Ira Bencun, program coordinator. Other items that are always needed are diapers, baby wipes, safety items and educational toys. “The items in the store are “purchased” with vouchers that the parents earn by making healthy life choices for themselves and their children. These activities include, well-baby check-ups, attending parenting classes, participating in story hour, etc.” said Bencun.

“When you find yourself with children’s clothing you no longer can use and don’t know what to do with them, let us put them to good use. In 2014 over 130 families utilized the store. These unused items you may have could make a big difference in the lives of others in Huntington County,” said Jan Williams, executive director.

Donated items may be dropped off at the office located at 1344 Maple Drive. Monetary donations are also accepted. Due to the liability concerns, used car seats and baby furniture cannot be accepted.
