Oldies Band KLAS to perform August 22

Posted: Friday, August 1, 2014

Familiar rock ‘n roll from the 1950’s and 60’s will be on tap as Roanoke’s Cottage Event Center presents a fundraiser for the Roanoke Lions Club featuring Indianapolis Oldies band KLAS. The concert will be held on Friday, August 22.

KLAS features vintage hits from artists like Bob Seger, The Grass Roots, The Eagles, Tommy James & The Shondells and Steppenwolf. Highlighting their sets are their Old Time Rock & Roll Medley featuring music by Elvis, Chuck Berry and Little Richard, and a group of slow songs called the Back Seat Medley.

KLAS is made up of Tom Zentz, bass and vocals; Steve Kennedy, drums and vocals; Nick Boulse, keyboards and vocals and Dan Bourget, guitar and vocals. Bourget dazzled the Event Center audience last year with his solo for the Santana hit Evil Ways.

Tickets are ten dollars each and may be purchased at Good Grains Gluten Free Bakery (Roanoke), or by calling (260) 483-3508. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the show beginning at 7:30 p.m. The Roanoke Lions Club will be on site grilling burgers for purchase, and a cash bar will also be available. The event is sponsored by Bippus State Bank, Larry Elliott Insurance and ReMAX realtor Marti McFarren.
