A note from the Chamber

Posted: Friday, April 24, 2020

The past several weeks has been hard on everyone. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families dealing with medical issues and those who have lost loved ones. Our prayers are also with our friends who own businesses in the county that have had their lives forever altered.

We encourage everyone to support our local small businesses by shopping local, buying gift cards to use later or order takeout food where available.

We are now reaching the point where the Governor will begin relaxing the restrictions and allow our businesses to start up again. We will need to show our customers that we are ready to serve them in a way that is not going to endanger them or the employees. The Chamber wants to help you be ready and help show your customers that they can have confidence in your being ready to serve them.

The Chamber is asking each of you to think about what you need to do to be ready to open your business. We want to take all the ideas and put them together to share with our members so all of us can be ready. Each business is going to face different issues, but together we can make Huntington County a great place to do business again.

Social distancing and monitoring your employees, checking temperatures, personal protection equipment, hand sanitizing stations, all are means to protect customers and employees alike. All of these new ways of doing business will play a part in being ready to re-open your business.

Please reply to and send your ideas and the Chamber will do our best to make sure everyone is as ready as possible when the restrictions are lifted.

We know there are numerous other issues like budgets, cash flow, inventory, absenteeism, etc. that you are dealing with as well. The Indiana Chamber has a site that is one of the best we have found for information and useful videos relating to our current situation. It also has the latest updates from the Governor’s office. The site is located at
