Nominations sought for Steven Bailey Award

The Youth Services Bureau of Huntington County is currently accepting nominations for its annual Steven L. Bailey Memorial Award. This award has been presented annually since 1999 to an individual or group who demonstrates a strong compassion for the youth and families of Huntington County.

Nominees for the award can be an individual or group who has made a positive impact in the lives of young people through activities that empower, encourage and support the youth of Huntington County. The award is named for Steven L. Bailey, who was a strong youth and family advocate in the community.

To be considered for the award nominees must be 18 years of age or older and be a positive role model through supportive, encouraging and empowering involvement with youth as a volunteer or through their professional responsibilities. The candidate must also have impacted a Huntington County child and/or youth.

The award recipient selection will be made in early December by a panel of YSB board members and staff. The award will be presented at the agency’s annual dinner on January 26, 2012.
