Pathfinder Services board of directors celebrated the 30th anniversary of the organization’s president, John Niederman, left, on Monday, March 9. The recognition took place at the March board meeting, held at the Pathfinder OutSource Manufacturing facility at 1152 E. State Street.

“Pathfinder Services has been fortunate to have the experienced guidance and innovative leadership of John Niederman over the past three decades,” Chant Thompson, Pathfinder Services board chairman (right in photo) stated. “His passion for driving the mission has cultivated an extraordinary organization, built on dedicated employees and genuine passion for strengthening the community by enabling those we serve to achieve independence, inclusion and stability. We celebrate all that has been accomplished under his administration.”

John Niederman, who currently resides in Huntington and has served as Pathfinder Services, Inc. president since 1985, has been actively involved in community development for more than 35 years. He came to Indiana as a student at the University of Notre Dame, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. Niederman was awarded his Master’s Degree in Social Work from St. Louis University and launched his career with the St. Louis University Hospital as an Arthritis Social Worker. He later served as the Director of Special Services/Vocational Evaluation at Anthony Wayne Rehabilitation Center in Fort Wayne over the course of seven years while obtaining his Master’s Degree in Business from the University of St. Francis.

In his 30 years at Pathfinder Services, Inc., he has overseen the expansion of the organization to become a comprehensive human and community development agency. It serves Northeast Indiana through many of its varied services, from services for the developmentally disabled to programs enabling more than 2,500 families in the last 15 years to purchase their dream home. All of the organization’s services are designed to strengthen communities, primarily through helping their citizens to gain greater social and economic inclusion and independence.
