News from the Historic Forks of the Wabash

The board of directors and staff of the Historic Forks of the Wabash Museum would like to thank everyone who donated items, helped with set-up and attended the annual garage sale on Saturday, April 6. The sale is one of the annual fundraising events the Forks holds and this year’s sale was very successful. The Forks appreciates the support of their volunteers, the Huntington community and are very thankful for all who made this year’s sale the best ever.

Saturday, May 4 will be the Piecemakers Quilt show at the Historic Forks of the Wabash Richardville Room. This year’s show will be one day only. Plan to attend and see the beautiful hand-made quilts that will be on display beginning at 10 a.m.

The Forks of the Wabash invites everyone to attend the annual “Old-Fashioned Fourth of July” celebration at the Forks on Thursday, July 4. Included in the events this year will be a band concert by the Erie Band, a program, refreshments in the main museum and tours of the buildings following the program. The program will begin with the concert at 9:30 a.m. Please bring your lawn chairs and join us for this special way to celebrate our freedom.

The Annual “Splash on the Wabash” will take place on Saturday, July 6. This is always a fun event for individuals and families to participate in. Check the “Splash” website for more information on the times for the float and how to register.

The Annual “Forks Uncorked” will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, July 12. There will be wine and craft beer tasting as well as food trucks. Entertainment will be provided throughout the evening along with a silent auction. For more information about this and tickets, please check the “Forks Uncorked” or HARTA websites.
