Nesler returns to Evensong series this Sunday

Returning for his fourth visit to the Evensong Concert Series on Sunday, April 28, Andrew Nesler will perform a varied program, including his own composition. The concert will begin at 4 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 530 Guilford Street.

Hailing from Tucson, Arizona, Nesler is pursuing an undergraduate degree in piano performance from Purdue University Fort Wayne. He has been a featured performer at the Evensong Concert Series in Huntington annually since 2016, and the Gene Marcus Piano Camp and Festival in 2015, 2016 and 2017, where he has also served as a practice coach from 2015 to 2018. He is a two-time winner of the Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne Concerto/Aria competition in 2014 and 2016, and was awarded the first prize at the state-wide Indiana Music Teachers Association (IMTA) Hoosier Auditions Competition in May of 2017.

The concert program includes: FJ Haydn: Sonata in E, Hob. XVI: 31. F Liszt: Années de Pèlerinage Deuxième Anné: Italie IV: Sonetto 47 del Petrarca. F Liszt: Zwei Konzertetüden, S. 145. M Ravel: Pavane pour une Infante Défunte. S. Prokofiev: Sonata No. 6, Op. 82.
