Posted: Thursday, March 29, 2018

The community is invited to join in on the National Opening Day for Trails, and the kick-off season of “Walk with a Doc.” The event will be held on Saturday, April 7 at the Erie Rail Trail. Participants are asked to park at Crestview Middle School, 1151 W 500 N.

The event begins with a ribbon cutting on our newest section of the Erie Rail Trail at 9 a.m. The run, walk, bike event will start immediately after the ribbon cutting at approximately 9:15 a.m. The walk and run event will begin at Gragg Street and will follow the newly completed section of the Erie Rail Trail. Participants can choose to walk or run the 1.5 miles or the five mile trail.

Bikers can choose from the five mile family ride on the trail system or the 25-mile ride that begins on the Erie Rail Trail, continues on lightly traveled county roads and returns to Gragg Street at the Erie Rail Trail.

Zagster bikes will be available for rent to anyone in need of a bike for the event. Helmets are required to participate.
