Najuch, Froomkin open ThEatery

Posted: Monday, January 17, 2011

A new restaurant opened in downtown Huntington in late December. ThEatery is located at 528 N. Jefferson Street and is co-owned by Rich Najuch and Joel Froomkin. The idea for the new restaurant came from patrons of the dinner shows at The New Huntington Theater, located next door and also co-owned by Najuch and Froomkin.

ThEatery is open Monday and Tuesday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Wednesday and Thursday 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lunch is served until 5 p.m. with dinner served until 9 p.m., when the late night menu is offered. The restaurant offers a big-city appeal with a comfortable atmosphere. Numerous murals decorate the brick walls of the completely restored interior of the building.

Lunch menu items include deli-styled sandwiches and salads. ThEatery also serves two hot meals, cube steak or ham. Dinner menu selections include ribs with homemade barbeque sauce, prime rib, salads, sandwiches, a variety of pastas, and more. All meals are made from scratch and different specials are offered on various days throughout the week. The restaurant also offers a full bar with serving license and features half-partitions to separate the bar area from the family room

Najuch and Froomkin’s goal is to offer a comfortable family setting where people can enjoy themselves. Najuch commented that they really enjoy meeting people and talking with them. Future plans include introducing flavored coffees and multiple desserts.
