Posted: Friday, March 18, 2016

Loretta Mottram, senior director of business development at Pathfinder Services, announced her recent graduation from the NeighborWorks Achieving Excellence Program in association with the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Mottram is one of forty-nine leaders to graduate with this Achieving Excellence class – a prestigious and highly selective training program offered by NeighborWorks America through the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.

“This was an amazing experience and was truly transformational. The tools, executive coaching and leveraging of peer support provided the necessary framework for effectively leading change,” says Mottram.

Achieving Excellence is an 18-month program for seasoned executive directors and senior level staff to transform their social benefit organizations for greater impact in their communities. Through this program, Mottram specifically addressed one of the most critical challenges facing her organization, identifying and implementing solutions that not only dramatically changed how the organization does business, but also fostered lasting community change.

Since Mottram began the program in October 2014, she has led change that expanded the reach of service for Pathfinder OutSource Manufacturing, formalized standard operational procedures, aligned and engaged a highly skilled sales and operations team to drive their ISO certified work forward.

She has created new partnerships and solicited an organizational health assessment for the Commercial Operations areas for Pathfinder Services. Mottram has built a marketing department and is leading the charge to create comprehensive marketing plans for all divisions of Pathfinder Services. She is also partnering with a marketing firm to construct interactive on-line sales platforms. This tool is set to debut at the same time as the organization’s new website on the 50th birthday of Pathfinder Services, March 28, 2016. Mottram is focused on social enterprise to increase the revenues earned by those who are served by Pathfinder Services. She is genuinely creating stronger communities by providing comprehensive human and community development services across Indiana.

Mottram plans to build a stronger community where all people are accepted and have control of their destiny now that she has completed Achieving Excellence, a selective management program at Harvard sponsored by NeighborWorks America. Mottram’s successful completion of the Achieving Excellence program is a testament to her top-notch skills and long-term commitment to improving our nation’s lower-income communities, and the lives of their residents,” said Paul Weech, president and CEO of NeighborWorks America. Achieving Excellence includes three formal sessions at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, as well as executive coaching and structured peer to peer interactions to guide the participant through the transformative change they seek for their organization and community. The graduation was held in Atlanta, GA, at the NeighborWorks Training Institute on February 22.

Mottram will utilize the skills she has gained in this cutting-edge program to influence positive change both within Pathfinder Services and the community at large. For more information about the NeighborWorks Achieving Excellence program, go to, or call Lindsay Moore at (202) 760-4059.
