Moonlight and Magnolias tickets available

Posted: Tuesday, July 29, 2014

Different Stages Theater, at the award-winning The New Huntington Theater, will present Moonlight and Magnolias Thursday, August 14 through Saturday, August 23. Tickets are available for the professional, Broadway-style production at www.different-stages.com.

According to the Different Stages description of the production, legendary Hollywood producer David O. Selznick has a problem. He has just fired the director of Gone with the Wind and the script is on its umpteenth version. He desperately needs a new director and writer - immediately. However, the writer he wants, Ben Hecht, has never even read the novel. Throw Hollywood director Victor Flemming, $15,000, five days locked in an office, and a bunch of bananas into the mix and by the end of this Hollywood comedy everyone’s sanity may just be gone …with the wind.

This original production will be presented three-quarter arena style with traditional theater seating. Evening performances begin on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m. with Saturday matinees at 1:30 p.m.

The 2014 Supper Club Holiday Show will take place Thursday, December 4 through Saturday, December 20. Presented in traditional cabaret style with table seating, this annual favorite features New York based singers presenting an all-new show. The show has grown over the past eight years into a holiday favorite for families and friends.

Doors open for Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening shows at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6:15 p.m., followed by the show at 7:45 p.m. The Saturday, December 13 show only will begin at 1:30 p.m. The show runs approximately two hours with a 15 minute intermission.

All Supper Club Holiday Show evenings performances include a buffet dinner and the show. The matinee is show only. A full bar is available and all beverages are served a la carte.  Because of table layout restrictions larger groups may require seating at adjacent tables.

Following seven years of renovation by Richard Najuch and Joel Froomkin, The New Huntington Theater has been gorgeously remodeled into an art deco space as home of Different Stages Theater. Froomkin and Najuch relocated to Indiana in mid-2007 with the vision of remodeling the disused Huntington Theater and bringing the space new life as home to their professional theater company. The New Huntington Theater draws theater enthusiasts from miles away and also introduces them to the Huntington community.

Najuch and Froomkin just completed the presentation of The Sound of Music at Different Stages Theater and have added a dimension to Huntington that has a direct economic impact on the community as a whole. Those who attend visit Huntington’s shops, restaurants and hotels making Huntington a “destination” to visit. The New Huntington Theater’s presence has also created an increased interest in the development of the arts in the area.

The New Huntington Theater is located at 528 N. Jefferson Street and the full show schedule, further details, preview videos and tickets are available online at www.different-stages.com or by calling the box office at (260) 454-0603.
