Posted: Friday, March 22, 2013

The operating assets of Mignone Communications, founded in Huntington in 1995, have been acquired by EP Graphics, Berne. The February 18 transaction created one of the largest Indiana-based web printers.

The combined operations of Mignone and EP Graphics will have approximately 150 employees and the transition has begun to integrate staff and operations in the EP Graphics plant in Berne, 40 miles from Huntington. EP Graphics specializes in short-to-medium runs for a wide variety of catalogs, books and other publications.

“Mignone Communications is a great strategic and cultural fit with EP Graphics,” said Tyler Kitt, president and CEO of EP Graphics. “Our operations complement each other, and we share a commitment to quality on-time delivery solutions. We will be stronger together.”

John Mignone, Mignone Communications president, will serve as chief operating officer at EP Graphics. According to Mignone, the acquisition announcement “culminates a two-year process of evaluating business opportunities.”

“Our two companies operate with the same set of core business values and integrity. I am excited about the benefits and opportunities this provides to our customers and staff. This acquisition makes us very competitive in the marketplace,” Mignone said.

EP Graphics began as Economy Printing Concern and was founded in Berne by Christian Muselman in 1925. The company is now jointly owned by the Muselman family and Kitt. Muselman also owns an additional company based in Berne. Known as DRG, it is comprised of two divisions, media (Annie’s) and fulfillment (Strategic Fulfillment Group).
