Metalloid gives students an early Christmas

Posted: Friday, December 6, 2019

Metalloid Corporation, Huntington, gave several Horace Mann Elementary School students an early Christmas. The corporation purchased and will donate 35 winter coats along with hats and gloves to the school today. Metalloid also purchased boots for five students and about a dozen pairs of gloves and hats.

Luke Vickrey, general manager of Metalloid, explained that the business has been in Huntington for 68 years and wanted to give back to the community again this year. Last year was the first year that Metalloid connected with the school corporation, and sought out those students in need of winter clothing.

Horace Mann was chosen last year after it reopened after closing in 2011. Most other schools in the district had already been adopted by other groups. Metalloid decided since they had established a connection with Horace Mann Elementary School, they would help them again this year.

Metalloid Corporation is located at 500 Jackson Street and can be found on the web at www.metalloidcorp.com.
