Mayor Fetters presents the “State of the City”

The Chamber of Commerce hosted a “State of the City” for 2017 event this morning with Mayor Brooks Fetters. The event took place at Café of Hope beginning at 7:30 a.m. The Regional Chamber of Commerce provided coffee for those attending. The Mayor presented to a full house of over 50 individuals.
Mayor Fetters updated those in attendance on several key initiatives that will be on the agenda for 2017. Mayor Fetters talked to the group about accomplishments during 2016 and plans for his administration for 2017. Some of the administration’s plans for 2017 include paving of streets, more development of trails, enhancements at Veterans Memorial at Memorial Park to include a Vietnam Monument, UB Odd Fellows Building in downtown Huntington, new neighborhood associations, retaining businesses and improving skills needed for local jobs, eliminating blight and more. This was followed by a question and answer session.
State Senator Andy Zay along with Paul Lagemann, District Director for Congressman Jim Banks’ office also addressed those in attendance this morning.
