Markle Library to host Google Drive class

The Markle Library will host Huntington’s successful Google Drive class Wednesday, October 25 at 6 p.m. Any adult interested in learning about Google’s popular online file storage tool is invited to the free workshop, and the library will provide computers for those who cannot bring one. Teens can return to the popular wizarding school from the Harry Potter books for a special Halloween at Hogwarts party at the Huntington Library. Taking place Saturday, October 28 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., teens can enjoy wand-making, other crafts, trivia, and more. Teens are encouraged to come in costume, or dressed in the colors of their preferred Hogwarts House.

Best-selling author and Hoosier Mike Mullin will kick off National Novel Writing Month, at the Huntington Library with a writing workshop for adults Thursday, November 2 at 6 p.m. This workshop will teach those in attendance tips and tricks for writing their first novel. This workshop is interactive and includes many hands-on activities, so participants should come ready to write and learn. Books from his popular Ashfall series will be available for purchase and signing at the workshop, as well.

After the Writing Workshop, the Huntington Library will host National Novel Writing Month Write-ins each Tuesday night at 6 p.m. in November, hosted by the Wordsmiths Writing Group, the library’s writing club. Whether you’re tackling a novel or simply want someplace to focus and write, the write-ins are a great way to enjoy the company and camaraderie of Huntington’s fellow writers. Hot tea and coffee, among other beverages and snacks, will also be provided. These Write-ins are for teens and adults.
