Mannheim Steamroller coming to Honeywell

Posted: Friday, November 16, 2012

Mannheim Steamroller, famous around the world for its Grammy Award winning music and multimedia Christmas shows, will arrive in Wabash for two performances at the Honeywell Center on Monday, November 26 at 3 and 7 p.m. This show is sponsored by Ford Meter Box Company, Inc.

Music director Chip Davis founded and created Mannheim Steamroller in 1984. Already multi-platinum recording artists through its Fresh Aire Series, Davis decided to record an album of Christmas music combining the group's signature mix of Renaissance instruments with rock & roll beats. With that idea in mind, they created and released Mannheim Steamroller Christmas in 1990.

The resulting album was a runaway hit and Mannheim Steamroller went on to become the biggest selling Christmas music artist in history. The tour, now in its 27th year, is still met by sold-out audiences and was one of the top 20 concert tours in the nation last year. The group has two touring ensembles that will hold over 90 performances throughout the United States this year. Mannheim Steamroller’s Christmas tour has become an annual holiday tradition among its fans and is typically added into their family celebrations.

Tickets are $28, $48, and $68, and may be purchased at the box office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday by calling (260) 563-1102 or by visiting www.honeywellcenter.org.
