Malta House to offer Christmas Day buffet

The Malta House Men’s Shelter will offer an all-you-can eat Christmas buffet at St. Peter’s First Community Church, 206 Etna Avenue, on Sunday, December 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The meal will be free to those attending as a gift from the mission’s supporters.

The traditional meal will feature ham or turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, dinner rolls, assorted desserts and beverages. Dine in or carry out are available.

Donations of food items for the meal are needed including 12 hams, 8 turkeys, mashed potatoes, turkey gravy, 12 – 10 lb. cans green beans, 8 – 10 lb. cans corn, 500 dinner rolls, butter, 65 assorted pies, coffee, cream and sugar and sugar substitute. Non food items needed for the buffet include 500 to 750 napkins, 500 large paper plates, 500 small paper plates, 500 cups, 10 rolls aluminum foil, 400 large take out containers, 400 small take out containers and/or Wal-Mart or Owens gift cards to purchase the items.
