Lutheran Medical Clinic opens in Roanoke

Posted: Friday, January 18, 2013

A ribbon cutting took place at the new Lutheran Health Network Clinic on Monday, January 14, officially welcoming patients to the facility. Located at 280 Commercial Street in Roanoke, the clinic’s construction was begun in June 2012 and completed in seven months.

The 7,234 square foot building was constructed at a cost of $1.2 million. It is staffed by Jeffrey Witt, MD and created six new jobs in Roanoke. Patients of all ages are accepted and if the need arises an additional physician will be added to the staff.

The former Lutheran clinic was located on Eighth Street in Roanoke in a converted single family home. The new facility marks 40 years of Lutheran Medical Group’s presence in Roanoke. Representatives from Lutheran believe the new location will better serve the needs of Roanoke’s residents with more parking spaces, more exam rooms, a room for lab work and a separate room for procedures.

On hand for the ribbon cutting and opening celebration were representatives from the town of Roanoke, Lutheran Health Network, Huntington County Commissioners, Huntington County Economic Development, Huntington County Chamber of Commerce and others.
