Posted: Friday, October 19, 2012

With Love Left Over Inc. will hold its first annual Off Road Trail Challenge on Saturday, November 3. The off road challenge is a fundraiser to help With Love Left Over Inc. acquire a building for its bicycle training program for children with special needs.

The bicycle training program is currently limited to a seasonal outdoor program that with a building, will convert to a year around indoor program. The races to raise the funds for the building will take place at the Kin-Ti-On-Ki Trail at the Salamonie Reservoir, 9214 Lost Bridge West, Andrews.

The event is in two parts beginning at 10 a.m. with the running event. Competitors can choose from a 10K individual run or an 18K run that can be entered as a team event or as an individual. Teams will consist of four or more runners that will run the entire race and the top four times will be used to determine the team winners.  The mountain bike race will start at 12 noon. A competitor can choose from a 10K individual race or a 32K race that can be entered as a team event or as an individual. The team winners will be awarded a 6 to 7 feet custom, traveling trophy. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in every category.

Entrants will receive a $500 gift card from RedStar World Wear and a 3 day, two night stay in one of 14 Blue Green resorts and a cool Tech T-shirt.

Companies are also invited to participate in the event in either an off-road run, a mountain bike race and/or a fundraising competition. The winner of each event will receive a 6 to 7 foot traveling trophy and “bragging” rights for the year. The business that donates the most to With Love Left Over Inc. for the year will be awarded the “Biggest Hart Award.” It is an oak traveling award standing over 6 feet tall and can be seen in the lobby of the Parkview Huntington Family YMCA.
