Local law firm award three scholarships

The Huntington County law firm of Bowers, Brewer, Garrett & Wiley, LLP, has announced the winners of their 2017 educational scholarships. Nolan Betterly, Kayci Clark and Jami Norwood received scholarships to be used toward their continuing education.

Nolan Betterly is the son of Ken and Anne Betterly, Huntington, and will be majoring in Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management at Indiana University. Betterly has been active at Huntington North High School in golf, basketball, National Honor Society, Student Athletic Board, school WVSH broadcasts and Junior Vikings Basketball Camp. He has also been involved with the Huntington Soup Kitchen, Blessings in a Backpack, Forks of the Wabash, Campus Life and is a youth sports ref and coach at the YMCA.

Kayci Clark is the daughter of Dan and Kim Clark, Markle, and will be majoring in dental hygiene at IPFW. Clark has been active at Huntington North High School with Campus Life, volleyball and National Honor Society. She has also been involved with Forgotten Children, Rake and Run, Angel Tree Project and Markle Church of Christ Youth Group mission trips to Mexico.

Jami Norwood is the daughter of Mike and Brenda Norwood, Roanoke, and plans to attend the University of Evansville to major in physical therapy. At Huntington North, Norwood has been active in Class Council, FFA and the National Honor Society, is a student tutor and is ranked in the Top 10 in her class. She has participated in 4-H, 4-H Junior Leaders, 4-H Livestock Judging Team, Youth Advisory Board, Upward Sports Program, Interfaith Hospitality Network, New Life Fellowship and Adopt-A-Family.
