Posted: Friday, June 28, 2019

LLL Truck Repair, of Andrews, and American Huey 369, a nonprofit organization based in Peru, are partnering to host “Honoring Our Heroes,” a special helicopter event recognizing veterans and active duty personnel on July 20, at LLL Truck Repair from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Two Vietnam-era helicopters, an American Huey 369 and Huey 803/Warrior 11 will land at 10:30 a.m. Membership flights will be available to all patriots beginning at noon. The public is invited to attend this all-ages event.

Veterans and active-duty personnel interested in taking a membership flight should arrive to register for a drawing between 10 and 11 a.m.

Food vendors and children’s activities will be available all day. A cash raffle, gun raffle and silent auction will also be occurring. Both Jerry Lindquist’s Master Modeler Display Traveling Museum and vehicles from the Indiana Military Preservation Association will be on display.

Honoring Our Heroes was founded in 2012 by Ryan and Melissa Long.

A sponsorship campaign to fund membership flights for veterans and active-duty personnel is currently underway. For more information about Honoring Our Heroes or sponsorship opportunities, visit the event’s Facebook page, Honoring Our Heroes Wabash Indiana, or search the Facebook event, 2019 Honoring Our Heroes.

The event’s rain date is Sunday, July 21, at the same location and time.
