Lions Club to sell Christmas trees and fruit

Posted: Thursday, November 9, 2017

The Huntington Lions Club will receive its annual shipment of Christmas trees on Saturday, November 18, at 7 a.m. Available trees include Scotch pine and Fraser fir. The Lions Club will also have grapefruit and oranges for sale during the event.

Hours for the sales are Thursdays, 1 to 6 p.m.; Fridays, 1 to 8 p.m.; Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays, noon to 8 p.m. The sales take place at the Scout cabin across from Sunken Gardens on W. Park Drive in Huntington.

This marks the 43rd year the club has sold the trees to raise money for a wide variety of county-wide projects and charities as an ongoing investment in the community. Proceeds from the Christmas tree sales go toward scholarships for the Children’s Choir of Huntington County, college scholarships, eye glasses for the needy, Love INC, Boys & Girls Club, HAT, Huntington County Literacy Coalition, Huntington North High School Varsity Singers, 4-H Fair Association and various other projects throughout Huntington County, in addition to state Lions Club projects.
