Lincoln Elementary needs reading buddies

Posted: Friday, August 26, 2011

Due to additional students at Lincoln Elementary School, the school is looking for twenty individuals that would be interested in acquiring a reading buddy for the 2011-12 school year. Adam Drummond, principal at Lincoln Elementary, asked the Chamber of Commerce to seek out individuals that would be interested in this program.

The reading time begins in September and runs through the month of April. You are asked to meet with your reading buddy (first graders) two times per month for thirty minutes. Currently, the Rotary Club, Optimist Club and Kiwanis Club have reading buddies and Lincoln is in need of one more group to adopt the additional twenty students. If you feel this is something you or your group would enjoy or for more information please let the Chamber know by responding to skimmel@huntington-chamber.com. The Chamber will then contact Mr. Drummond at Lincoln Elementary School.
