Library to hold Used Book Sale starting August 3

The Huntington Friends of the Library Used Book Sale, usually associated with Heritage Days, has been rescheduled this year due to supply and demand of storage space. The sale kicks off Wednesday, August 3 with the preview sale from 5 to 8 p.m. for Friends of the Library members only.

It will be open to the public Thursday, August 4 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday, August 5 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, August 6 from 9 a.m. to Noon. From Noon to 2 p.m., the Friends will hold the $2 Sack Sale, where purchasers can buy an entire brown paper sack of books for $2. And the final hour of the sale, 2 to 3 p.m., all remaining books will be free. In addition a Vintage Book section near the library entrance will feature a selection of special collectible books to be bid upon in a silent auction; 2 p.m. Saturday is the deadline for final bids. The Literacy Coalition will also be on hand with books especially helpful for home schooling.

The Friends of the Library is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization of volunteers who believe the public library is a necessary and beneficial organization for the American public. Friends demonstrate their belief by supporting library activities, securing materials and services and promoting the library as an active, dynamic education and information center in the community. Membership starts as low as $5 per year, and all members get access to the Preview Sale Wednesday, August 3.
