Library to hold Open Mic Night on September 15

Posted: Friday, August 12, 2016

Teens in grades six through 12 are invited to the Huntington Library for its annual Open Mic Night. The event will be held at the library on Thursday, September 15 beginning at 6 p.m.

Every year the Huntington Library holds an Open Mic Night, a night where teens can come and share their talents. Whether its singing, telling jokes, spinning a basketball on one’s finger or any other skill, teens are encouraged to stop by and show it off. Those who wish to perform must sign up for a slot by September 12 by calling (260) 356-0824, but all are welcome to attend to watch.

If you love Harry Potter, 2016 is a good year. Between the newly-released Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and the upcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Film, Harry Potter fans have new material to enjoy for the first time in years. A Back to Hogwarts Party will help to celebrate all the new Harry Potter events this year. It will take place on September 1 at 6 p.m. in Huntington. There will be different programs and crafts for different age groups, a teen/adult book discussion for The Cursed Child, House-themed snacks, souvenirs and more. Dressing up as a favorite character is encouraged. All ages are invited including families.

For more information on these programs, call or email the Huntington Library at (260) 356-0824 or ask@hctpl.info. The Huntington Library is located at 255 W. Park Drive.
