Library looking for photos of Huntington County

Posted: Thursday, August 9, 2018

Last year the Huntington City-Township Public Library created and sold a wall calendar of historic photos of Huntington, sourced from the Indiana Room’s digital collection. The wall calendar was so popular the library has decided to make it an annual tradition, with this year’s theme being “Naturally Beautiful: Nature Scenes in Huntington County.”

While last year’s photos all came from the Indiana Room, this year the library is seeking submissions from the community to fill the nature-themed pages. “We want this calendar to really highlight what Huntington residents love about nature in our county,” said Devon Henderson, communications specialist for the library. “Send us photos of your favorite spots, and tell us why you love them. This year’s calendar is about sharing Huntington’s natural beauty, recommended by Huntington residents.”

The community is encouraged to submit their photos of nature in Huntington County to the library by visiting their website at http://hctpl.info/2019-calendar, which also contains the requirements for submissions. All photographs chosen for the calendar will credit the photographer, as well as include a brief description of the location. The deadline for submission is Sunday, September 16.
