Library has activities planned toward teens

Posted: Friday, June 23, 2017

Teens can throw it back old school in the Huntington Library’s “Party like Your Grandparents” Bingo night. Taking place at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 29 in Markle and 3 p.m. Friday, June 30 in Huntington, this is a chance for teens to party like generations past with a chance for prizes at the end. All teens are invited.

Teens can also try their chance at the library’s own version of the popular television show “The Amazing Race.” Taking place at 2 p.m. Monday, July 3 in Huntington and 2 p.m. Friday, July 7 in Markle, the library’s version of the popular contest will be themed around construction and feature a variety of activities to be completed as fast as one can, just like the TV show.

And for teens who are intrigued by secret codes, invisible ink and other ways to keep information secret, the Huntington Library will hold a Caesar Cipher workshop Thursday, July 6 at 2 p.m. Teens will learn all about cryptography and substitution ciphers, as well as create a Caesar Cipher of their own. The Huntington Library is located at 255 W. Park Drive and the Markle Library is located at 155 W. Sparks Street, Markle.
