Libraries to host Pumpkin Decorating Contest

Huntington City-Township Public Library invites pumpkin decorators of all ages to enter the annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest, open to individuals, families, groups and clubs of all kinds. Between the dates of October 18 to 22, decorated pumpkins may be brought to either branch of the Huntington City-Township Public Library at 255 W. Park Drive or 197 E. Morse Street, Markle.

Pumpkins should not be carved, but can be decorated with markers, paints, yarn, cloth, hats or any such item. The pumpkins will be judged on Wednesday, October 23 by library patrons in the following categories: Funniest, Most Unusual, Most Colorful, Prettiest, Cutest, Scariest and Best Overall.

Separate winners in each category will be declared at the main library and at the Markle Branch Library. Winners will be notified on Friday, October 25. Pumpkins must be picked up no later than 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29.  For more information contact the Children’s Department at (260) 356-2900 or the Markle Branch at (260) 758-3332.
