Legislators to discuss General Assembly

Local legislators will discuss the recent Indiana General Assembly and give highlights from the 2014 legislative session at the Wednesday, May 14 Foundation Breakfast. The breakfast will feature State Senators Travis Holdman and Jim Banks, along with State Representative Dan Leonard.

Holdman is the Senate District 19 representative, which includes all or portions of Adams, Blackford, Grant, Huntington, Jay and Wells counties. He serves on several committees including chair of the financial institutions committee. Beyond his work in the Senate, he has also served on several boards including the Huntington University Board of Trustees and the national board of Youth for Christ.

Banks is the Senate District 17 representative, which includes Wabash County and parts of Whitley, Huntington and Grant counties. He serves on several committees including chair of the public safety subcommittee. He has spent several years working in business development and commercial real estate and also serves in the U.S. Navy Reserve.

Leonard is the Indiana House District 50 representative, which includes Huntington County and portions of Wells and Allen counties. He currently serves on the judiciary and ways and means committees and is the chair of the local government finance subcommittee. A Huntington city business owner, Leonard has previously served as president of the Southside Business Association and chairman of the board for the Huntington County Chamber of Commerce.

The Foundation Breakfast is open to the public. It will begin at 7:45 a.m. in the Habecker Dining Commons and conclude by 9 a.m. The cost of the breakfast is $7.
