LaFontaine Arts Council to bring BSU Singers

Posted: Friday, September 25, 2015

The LaFontaine Arts Council will present a concert by the Ball State University Singers on Thursday, October 29, at 7:30 p.m. in the Huntington North High School Auditorium. Tickets are $10, with students and senior citizens 62 and over receiving free admission.

Three recent Huntington North High School graduates, Elizabeth Leach, Levi Smith and Stuart Elmore, are members of this year’s group. The Ball State University Singers were formed in the early 1960s and are currently in the 52nd year of performing. In 1971 the Indiana General Assembly named the group “Indiana’s Official Goodwill Ambassadors.” The Singers have performed around the United States and in many European countries. The year 2012 proved to be an exciting year for the group as they were named the World’s Number One Collegiate Entertainment Ensemble at a competition in Cincinnati and then received a platinum award at an international competition in China. Dr. Alan Alder has been the director of the BSU Singers since 2008.

Advance tickets are available from LaFontaine Arts Council’s executive director Debbie Dyer by calling (260) 358-0055. Tickets will also be available at the door on the evening of the performance. Information about the concert can also be found on the LaFontaine Arts Council Facebook page.
