LaFontaine Arts Council thanks sponsors

Posted: Thursday, May 30, 2013

LaFontaine Arts Council’s Arts in Education program in Huntington County Schools for the 2012-13 school year was an extraordinary success. Quality arts in education programs are costly to implement.

Sponsoring these quality programs in our schools requires monetary support. The LaFontaine Arts Council is fortunate to celebrate support from several corporations who believe in the importance of art education in our schools. The Vectren Corporation is one of those corporate sponsors who support the Arts in Education endeavors of the LAC.

Marissa Lemar and her brother Jackson Lemar, both students at Flint Springs Elementary School, accepted an underwriting donation for Arts in Education programming from Mike Vice of the Vectren Corporation.  Both Marissa and Jackson enjoyed the “Thomas Edison” program presented to all elementary students this past spring as part of this year’s LAC programs in the schools. Representing the LAC board was Jan Tharp, an art education teacher at Huntington Catholic School.
