Posted: Thursday, October 2, 2014

The LaFontaine Arts Council has chosen Saturday, November 1 as the date of this year’s “Fashions for the Arts” fundraiser. The event will be held at the LaFontaine Golf Club beginning with a social time and an opportunity to bid on silent auction items at 11 a.m.

The luncheon will be served at 11:30 a.m., followed by a presentation by this year’s Arts Advocate and then the fashion show featuring clothes from Chico’s. Amy Wimmer-Schwarb is this year’s Arts Advocate. She will speak about the importance of arts education, specifically as it relates to the art of writing. Wimmer-Schwarb is a Huntington North High School and Indiana University graduate. She has written for newspapers and magazines and currently serves at the Associate Director of Membership Communications and Editor of Champion magazine for the NCAA. She and her husband, John, along with their two daughters, reside in Indianapolis.

The $25 tickets for “Fashions for the Arts” are available by emailing LaFontaine Arts Council executive director Debbie Dyer at ddyer@lafontaineartscouncil.org or by calling either (260) 358-0055 or (260) 356-8874.
