Kids Kampus offering 2015 Summer Kamp

Posted: Friday, May 29, 2015

Pathfinder Kids Kampus, the child care division of Pathfinder Services, is having a Summer Kamp for children ages five through 12 starting June 8 through August 11. The Summer Kamp includes up to 50 hours of fun and educational learning per week along with snacks, meals and a lot of activities. Summer Kamp will take place all summer long Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Limited scholarship opportunities may be available.

The Kamp features structured programs and provides activities to help develop the “whole child” and will stimulate each child’s unique interests and sense of discovery. Hands on experiences and opportunities for learning during the 2015 Summer Kamp include roller skating, a visit to the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo, nature walks, crafts, cooking, trips to area parks and the splash pad, participation in the summer library program and more.

“Studies show children may lose over half of what they have learned during the school year over the summer break,” stated Lisa Mettler, administrator of Kids Kampus. “Summer Kamp provides a fun and creative environment which engages the children in educational activities during the summer, helping them retain what they have learned in school.”

In addition to summer programming, Pathfinder Kids Kampus will be offering Fall Preschool, which is a program designed for children ages 3, 4, and 5 years. Two, three and five day preschool classes are available and will begin on Tuesday, September 3. Prices begin at just $23.50 per week.

Pathfinder Kids Kampus also has free Early Head Start openings for their Combination Program for children ages 18 months to 3 years of age. This program allows children to enjoy playing with other children five days a week while receiving Early Head Start curriculum preparing them for preschool and kindergarten. In addition, two or three home visits per month allow parents and guardians to work on their child’s development and family goals.
