Kids Kampus celebrates young child month

Pathfinder Kids Kampus, “A Caring Place to Go and Grow!” will be participating in several activities throughout the month of April to celebrate Month of the Young Child.

The “Month of the Young Child” is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and was first started in 1971. The purpose of the Month of the Young Child is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs as are offered by Pathfinder Kids Kampus.

This year’s theme for Month of the Young Child is Celebrating our Youngest Learners. April 6 to 10, Focus on Illustrations & Literature; April 13 to 17, Focus on Painting; April 20 to 24, Focus on Music; April 27 to May 1, Focus on Dancing.

As a part of the Focus on Painting week, local watercolor painting artist Jane Herzog will be at Pathfinder Kids Kampus to paint with the 3, 4 and 5 year olds on April 15 at 10 a.m.

“Each child in our community deserves high-quality learning experiences which are proven to lay the foundation for success in school and in later life,” said Pathfinder Kids Kampus Administrator, Lisa Mettler. “Month of the Young Child” is a time to recognize the importance of early learning and development and to celebrate all young children. Today, we know more than ever how important early childhood development is to giving the children of our community a great start.”
