Kids Kampus celebrates Head Start’s birthday

Posted: Friday, May 19, 2017

Pathfinder Kids Kampus is joining the National Head Start Association (NHSA) to celebrate Head Start’s 52nd birthday by kicking-off Community Reading Day. Across the country, 1,400 local Head Start programs are hosting community reading day celebrations featuring visits from local officials and community leaders to read to children.

“We are proud to offer Early Head Start programming here at Pathfinder Kids Kampus and are happy to celebrate Head Start’s birthday with Mayor Brooks Fetters today,” said Loretta Mottram, interim administrator at Pathfinder Kids Kampus. “This community reading day is an important opportunity to raise awareness in local communities about the impact of Early Head Start and early learning in general.”

Pathfinder Kids Kampus has offered Early Head Start to families who qualify since 2010. Early Head Start programs support expectant mothers as well as the mental, social, and emotional development of children from birth to age three. In addition to early learning services, programs provide children and their families with health, nutrition, social, and other services. Early Head Start programs build relationships with families that support positive family relationships and connections to peers and community.

Pathfinder Kids Kampus, Huntington, offers Early Head Start programming for children birth to three and expectant mothers, along with child care for children from six weeks to age 12 and preschool. Pathfinder Kids Kampus is a Level 3 Paths to QUALITY Provider and is the only licensed child care center in Huntington County.
