JeFFFest for 2013 is announced

Posted: Thursday, May 2, 2013

The LaFontaine Arts Council and Four Corners Custom Framing announce that this year’s JeFFFest will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 23 in downtown Huntington. The community event features fun food, fabulous music and fine art.

The fine art portion of the event gives artists of all ages the opportunity to create a special work of art on a 5” x 7” canvas. These official JeFFFest canvases are $5 and must be purchased at Four Corners Custom Framing, 419 N. Jefferson Street during business hours beginning Tuesday, May 14. Completed canvases should be returned to the shop by June 14 at which time they become property of the LaFontaine Arts Council.

The canvases are then professionally framed and displayed for silent auction starting June 20. The silent auction ends the evening of JeFFFest. Artists may purchase more than one canvas, and any media can be used on the canvas. Submissions must be dry and ready for framing when they are returned to the frame shop. People’s Choice awards will be given in both youth and adult categories. All proceeds from JeFFFest go toward the LaFontaine Arts Council’s “Arts in Education” programming.
