JeFFFest is announced for June

Posted: Friday, May 11, 2012

The LaFontaine Arts Council and Four Corners Custom Framing announce that this year’s JeFFFest will be on Sunday, June 24. The event, held in downtown Huntington from 6 to 8:30 p.m., features fun food, fabulous music and fine art.

The art portion of JeFFFest provides artists of all ages the opportunity to create a special work on a 5”x7” canvas. These official JeFFFest canvases are $5 and can be purchased only at Four Corners Custom Framing, 419 N. Jefferson Street, during business hours from Tuesday through Saturday beginning Saturday, May 12.

Completed canvases should be returned to the frame shop by Saturday, June 16, at which time they become property of the LaFontaine Arts Council. They will be professionally framed and displayed for silent auction at the frame shop starting Thursday, June 21. The silent auction ends the evening of JeFFFest.

Artists may purchase more than one canvas, and any media can be used on the canvas. Submissions must be dry and ready for framing when they are returned to the frame shop. People’s Choice awards will be given in both adult and youth categories. All proceeds from JeFFFest go toward the LaFontaine Arts Council’s “Arts in Education” programming.

For more information about JeFFFest, contact Debbie Dyer, executive director of the LAC, at either (260) 356-8874 or (260) 358-0055 or Paula Bittner, owner of the frame shop, at (260) 355-0650. Both LaFontaine Arts Council and JeFFFest pages can be found on Facebook.
