Ivy Tech classes to begin at Learning Center

Ivy Tech Community College Northeast will begin offering classes in August at the soon-to-open Huntington County Community Learning Center.

Classes beginning in August include six courses offered for college academic credit to include English composition, fundamentals of public speaking, introduction to psychology, mathematical principles and quantitative reasoning, beginning August 22 and continuing through December 17; and student success in university, running August 25 through October 15. All are offered in evening sessions.

A certified nurse’s aide (CNA) preparation class will be offered November 14 through December 17. CNA classes are day-long classes held five days a week, and are also offered for college academic credit.

Several additional courses this fall will offer industry certifications. They include white belt training, a one-day class on September 23 offering a basic working knowledge of Six Sigma learn manufacturing; gas metal arc welding MIG, October 4 through November 17 evenings and CNC machine operator, offered evenings November 1 through May 23.
