If you are laid off, or hours cut, check for help

Laid off or hours cut due to COVID-19? Indiana is offering a one-time $350 payment for help with utility bills.

Applications are due by July 31.

Indiana’s Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program has received an additional $17 million through the federal CARES Act, Indiana Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch said during a press conference last week. It is part of the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority.

Folks are eligible for whether they have received utility assistance in the past, or are applying for the first time, she said. It should cover electricity for two months, Crouch said.
