Huntington on Ice to be held on February 20, 21

Posted: Friday, January 29, 2021

Join the City of Huntington and the Downtown Business Association (DBA) in supporting “Huntington on Ice,” an outdoor, synthetic-ice skating event. The event will be held on Saturday, February 20 from 12 noon to 9 p.m. and Sunday, February 21 from 12 noon to 4 p.m.

A-1 for Fun’s 38’ x 48’ synthetic ice rink will be assembled on E. Franklin Street, just north of the Huntington County Courthouse. Skate rental is included in the $5 admission price. The goal of the event is to provide a fun and family-friendly winter activity while also bringing shoppers downtown to our retail businesses. The rink will accommodate up to 25 individuals per hour in a safe, outdoor environment. COVID-19 accommodations and sanitizing for equipment will be completed.

Participants may pre-register with the Huntington Park Department for one hour of skating + skate rental at a cost of $5 per person. Walk-up participation will be available based on availability of open slots. Multiple downtown businesses will be offering opportunities for refreshment, on-site and all downtown businesses will be encouraged to be open for extended hours during the event.

For your $100 sponsorship of one hour of rink time, the business name will be featured on all promotional materials and a banner displayed on-site, throughout the event. Additionally, presentation of a receipt for $10 or more, from a sponsoring business dated February 19, 20 or 21 will discount individual/family admission price to $3 each. Thirteen-hour sponsorship opportunities will be available.

The City of Huntington and the Downtown Business Association hopes that you will consider sponsoring this event through your donation of $100. Please send your check to Huntington County Community Foundation, 356 W. Park Drive, Huntington, IN 46750 and place “Skating Rink” in the memo line.

Skating reservations may be made in advance by calling Megan at the Huntington Park Department at (260) 358-2323.
