Huntington Library to host two events

Posted: Friday, June 16, 2017

The Indiana Room at the Huntington City-Township Public Library is bringing old architecture into new focus with its Summer Library Program this summer. Running now through July 15, the Indiana Room would like to invite all photography-minded individuals to participate in their photo contest.

By the fireplace at the Huntington Library is a display of older photographs of buildings in Huntington. The library invites those who wish to enter to try to replicate the photo of their choice, from those provided, in its current day setting. Those entering may also take another photo of the same subject any way they like, to enter as an artistic interpretation. The Indiana Room will choose winners from all entries after the July 15 deadline. For more information, visit the Indiana Room at the Huntington Library or call (260) 356-0824.

For those who own older homes, renovation can be hard. There are rules on what can and cannot be done, and proper repair can be costly. Huntington Alert will present options and information for those in this situation, or even those who just want to learn more, in their “What to Do with This Old House” workshop at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 28, in the Indiana Room at the Huntington Library. See what resources are out there, how to find out any restrictions there may be and more. For more information contact the Indiana Room at the Huntington Library or visit the library’s website at The Huntington City-Township Public Library is located at 255 W. Park Drive.
