Humane Shelter to have ribbon cutting

Posted: Friday, May 18, 2012

The Humane Shelter, 390 Thurman Poe Way, will have a ribbon cutting and open house to celebrate their new 700 sq. ft. addition. The ribbon cutting will take place on Sunday, June 3 from 1 to 3 p.m.

According to Pat Merckx, president, board of directors, “The area is much brighter and welcoming to individuals that come in to adopt a pet.” She went on to say, “The area is nicer for the animals as well as employees. This new addition is state of the art and a healthier environment for everyone involved.”

Those interested in attending the event will be given tours of the facility and snacks will be provided. The staff will talk with those in attendance about the facility and their vision for future growth and expansion.

The community is invited and RSVP’s are appreciated but not required to attend. If you would like to attend the event, please RSVP by calling the Humane Shelter at (260) 356-0355.
