Huey Lewis and the News coming to Wabash

Posted: Friday, October 5, 2012

Huey Lewis and the News will arrive in Wabash and take the Honeywell Center stage on Saturday, October 20 at 7:30 p.m.  The concert is sponsored by Rettig’s Industrial Supplies and associate sponsor Yellowbook360.beyond yellow.

Formed from two rival Bay Area bands in 1979, Huey Lewis and the News play a brand of straight-on rock and roll that has outlasted countless trends, selling over 20 million albums and earning two Grammy Awards along the way. The group still performs around 100 shows a year, sharing hits that include “Heart of Rock & Roll,” “I Want a New Drug,” “Stuck With You,” “Doing It All For My Baby,” and “The Power of Love.” In 2010, the band released “Soulsville,” a tribute to the music of Stax Records and other songs from that period. Opening for Huey Lewis and the News will be musical artist Mikial Robertson, from Anderson.

Tickets are $29, $49, $69, and $100, and may be purchased at the Honeywell Center box office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday by calling (260) 563-1102 or by visiting www.honeywellcenter.org.

Also taking place in Wabash that day will be the Chili for Charity Cook-Off at Paradise Springs from Noon to 4 p.m., and the American Heritage Craft Show, happening at the Honeywell Center from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
