Huntington University is pleased to announce that as of June 7, the employment rate for the class of 2015 was 84.7 percent and is more than 20 percent higher than the national average of 64.4 percent. If you combine employment rates and graduate school attendance, HU stands at 99.7 percent compared to the national average of 83.9 percent.
“I am excited to see the class of 2015 moving forward in their career fields, using their talents, skills and passions,” stated Martha Smith, associate dean of student life & director of career development & counseling services. “The faculty and staff at Huntington University have done an excellent job in preparing students for their future employment opportunities and graduate school.”
Of the 84.7 percent of HU grads with jobs, 65 percent have jobs related to their major. Sixty-three majors were represented by HU’s class of 2015. Twenty-four of those areas of study had a 100 percent employment rate within that field of study. These 24 majors include areas like broadcast-fusion media, management, elementary and special education, and history education. Other popular fields of study such as film production and nursing still maintain impressive placement rates with 80 percent and 83 percent respectively. Twenty-five 2015 HU alumni have gone on to various graduate schools across the country, including The University of Notre Dame, Wheaton College and Purdue University.
