Community Harvest Food Bank is to kick off the sixth annual “U Can Crush Hunger” competition with University of Saint Francis, Indiana Tech, Huntington University, PFW, Manchester University, Ivy Tech and Trine University.

A competition will take place from October 26 to November 12 to help the Community Harvest Food Bank collect food. Seven area schools, including Huntington University, will enter into the 6th annual “U Can Crush Hunger” competition to raise food and funds for the holidays and winter season.

This year’s goal is to raise 50,000 pounds of food. Students, faculty, alumni and staff will participate in various events to raise awareness about local hunger issues, while supporting their school in friendly competition.

We encourage people in the community to participate and help us beat our goal. Suggested items include canned fruits and vegetables, canned tuna and chicken, peanut butter and soup. In addition, each dollar donated during the competition will count as four pounds of food.
