Posted: Friday, December 20, 2019

Wabash Valley Music Association (WMVA) series show “Bandstand” will tell the story of 1945 and soldiers returning “from war to a changed nation.” The event will be held on Wednesday, January 8 at 7:30 p.m. The Ford Theater doors open at 6:45 p.m.

From three-time Tony winner and Hamilton choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler, comes an inspiring new American musical that explodes with infectious music and high-octane, heart-stopping dancing. It is 1945 and six soldiers return from war to a changed nation. When NBC announces a national competition to find the nation’s next great musical superstars, they form a band unlike any the nation has ever seen. Along the way, they discover the power of music to face the impossible, find their voice, and finally feel like they have a place to call home.

The national tour cast will star Zack Zaromatidis as Donny Novitski and Jennifer Elizabeth Smith as Julia Trojan. They will be joined by Roxy York (Mrs. June Adams), Rob Clove (Jimmy Campbell), Benjamin Powell (Davy Zlatic), Scott Bell (Nick Radel), Louis Jannuzzi III (Wayne Wright), and Jonmichael Tarleton (Johnny Simpson).

The cast also includes Shaunice Alexander, Beth Anderson, Michael Bingham, Milena J. Comeau, Ryan P. Cyr, Sarah Dearstyne, Michael Hardenberg, Andre Malcolm, Kaitlyn Mayse, Matthew Mucha, Mallory Nolting, Taylor Okey, Katie Pohlman, Oz Shoshan and Cameron Turner.

Ticket prices include $45 and $58. Show night dining is available for this performance. Tickets are available for purchase at HoneywellCenter.org/bandstand or by calling the Honeywell Foundation box office at (260) 563-1102. This WVMA performance is presented by Parkview Wabash Hospital.
