Home Helpers now available Huntington

Posted: Saturday, December 18, 2010

A new service is available in Huntington that provides care options for seniors, new moms, recuperative care, and continuing care in the home. Home Helpers has been supporting their clients in more than 500 communities across North America for over a decade and are now in the Huntington community.

As the nation’s leading senior care franchise, Home Helpers is an in-home care agency that provides companionship and quality non-medical and personal care. Flexible plans are tailored to the client’s unique needs, budget, and schedule. From a few hours to the whole day in the comfort of the home, the needs of those needing extra help are met. All caregivers are screened and insured.

Services offered by Home Helpers may include companionship, customized one-on-one care, some specialty care, personal care such as bathing and dressing, feeding, light housekeeping and laundry, meal preparation, medication reminders, transportation, errand services recreation morning “perk-up,” evening “tuck-in,” and more.

Home Helpers also features Direct Link which provides “help at the touch of a button.” A small, wireless button is worn around the neck or wrists, keeping the client in contact with professionally trained help at all times. It is monitored 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. Additional buttons are strategically located throughout the home for those critical times when the button is not worn.

Direct Link also includes microchip technology which dispenses multiple medications at preset times through a unit that is user-friendly. The automated medication dispenser is simple, affordable, and eliminates the worry of managing multiple medications. It loads up to 28 doses of medication in the unit which is under lock and key. A pre-programmed digital alarm clock alerts the client when a dose is ready. If the dose is not taken, a 24/7 Care Center is alerted and will call to remind the client the medication has been missed.
