Heritage Days parade winners announced

The 55th Annual Heritage Days Parade took place Saturday, June 23 with 114 entries. The winners of the various categories were decided by a group of judges that were organized by the Heritage Days steering committee.

The ’50s Theme School Float went to Union Township Sharpshooters, sponsored by the Huntington County Chamber of Commerce.

The Best Theme Float in the parade was Parkview Huntington Family YMCA, sponsored by Country Post Inn. First Place for the Best Horse Unit went to Chief Lafontaine Saddle Club, sponsored by Myers Funeral Home.

The Best Adult Group was Mizpah Racing Shriners, sponsored by Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Girls Scouts of Huntington County were named the Best Youth Group, sponsored by The Huntington County TAB.

Union Township Sharpshooters, sponsored by Heritage Pointe Communities, were named the Best Musical Unit. Fort Wayne Corvette Club, sponsored by Moose Lodge 837, was named first in the Best Classic Vehicle category.

The Best Antique Vehicle was Antiqology, sponsored by Norwood Health & Habilitation. The Best Marching Color Guard was the VFW Color Guard Post 2689, sponsored by American Legion 7.

The Chamber of Commerce thanks VFW Post 2689, the corporate sponsor of this year’s Heritage Days, all those who participated in the parade and congratulates the winners! Winning plaques may be picked up at the Chamber of Commerce office, 305 Warren Street, during regular business hours.
