Help honor a local veteran through HFNEI

Posted: Friday, March 27, 2015

Honor Flight Northeast Indiana (HFNEI) is a non-profit organization honoring America’s veterans for all their sacrifices. HFNEI flies local heroes from Fort Wayne to Washington DC to reflect at their memorials for a one day free visit. The trips are in their honor and thank veterans for their service to our country.

HFNEI believes every veteran deserves to visit his or her memorial. It assigns a guardian to a veteran to ensure the veteran has a safe, memorable and rewarding experience. Guardians are trained to serve heroes by pushing wheelchairs, lending an ear, taking pictures or handing out water. Willing and able family members are considered. Guardians are volunteers and pay for their own trip.

Help send veterans from Northeast Indiana by making a tax-deductible donation. HFNEI receives no government funding. All flights are fully funded by individual and corporate donations, small and large. Make your donations with checks payable to Honor Flight, P.O. Box 452, Huntington, IN  46750. Contributors will receive a receipt for their tax-deductible donation. Those interested in serving as a guardian can find an application at www.hfnei.org.
