Healthy Steps at Parkview Huntington April 18

Healthy Steps will be held at Parkview Huntington Hospital Saturday, April 18. The health fair will begin at 7 a.m. and conclude at 11 a.m. in the front lobby and lower-level classrooms at the hospital, 2001 Stults Road, Huntington.

New booths will be a part of Healthy Steps this spring including Kids Korner with activities for children under age 12. Chair massages and cooking demonstrations will also be included.

Lab Tests available will include Chem 17 (fasting blood chemistry, 8-12 hours), $18; Chem 30 which is all tests in Chem 17 plus liver/kidney function (fasting blood chemistry, 8-12 hours), $25; CRP Ultra-Sensitive blood test which detects early heart disease, $20; hemogram CBC test, $8; Glyco A1C diabetes screen, $20; TSH blood test thyroid screen, $20; PSA blood test, $20; Vitamin D bone health, $35. Payment by cash, check or credit card is preferred for all services.

Free screenings and services will be offered such as hearing screening, vision screening, body fat analysis, breathing assessment, foot screening, skin cancer screening and bone density screening. Imaging services will include digital mammography (will file with insurance); HeartSmart CT scan (recommended for individuals over 40), $50. There is a fee to be paid by cash, check or credit card for these two tests, and appointments are required at (260) 355-3802 or (800) 533-2252 extension 53802.

A Parkview Mobile Heart Screening Coach will be a part of Healthy Steps with appointments required. Call (855) 356-TEST for fee and other information.

Medical information booths will offer learning materials about sleep disorders, ortho experience, StrokeCareNow Network, birth planning, diabetes information, healthy eating tips, and MyChart electronic health records.

For compliance with regulations, physician lab orders cannot be altered (unbundled) and will not be collected at the health fair. Parkview Huntington Hospital will no longer be able to accept a physician order and unbundle the tests ordered by billing some tests to insurance and some tests to self-pay via Healthy Steps pricing. Physician ordered tests will require insurance information verification and an outpatient registration where tests are associated with CPT codes for billing.

Lab tests at the health fair will be paid by cash/check/credit card payment. Test results will be returned to participants by mail in approximately two weeks.
